Sheila Ghazarian is a local Canadian artist and art instructor. She is a graduate of Toronto School of Art, Seneca College and Durham College/University. She has taken may extended courses through Ontario College of Art and Design University, Haliburton School of the Arts and workshops taught by many contemporary artists.
Sheila spent her childhood roaming through the landscape, exploring, connecting to her eastern roots along the rivers and the ocean, developing a personal relationship and connection with nature that created a need for visual expression.
Working with the knowledge that the material also contributes to her expression, Sheila has created images in many different media, through painting, printmaking and sculpture. Her artwork includes a variety of subject matter, such as landscape and figurative themes, created in both realistic and abstract forms.
Currently, Sheila has been working in acrylics, interpreting the human figure and the portrait, as well as printmaking with water-based inks.
Sheila has participated in Juried, Solo and Group exhibitions, and has been awarded many awards for both painting and sculpture.
