Vita Keeling was born in Sicily and immigrated to Canada as a young child. She is married and lives in Unionville with her husband and son.
Vita displayed an interest in art at an early age. She studied Commercial Art at Western Technical Commercial School and after graduating, embarked on a twenty-eight year career as a Graphic Artist.
Upon retirement, Vita was inspired to paint and returned to study art at the Toronto School of Art. Here she obtained her Visual Art Diploma and was the recipient of the Edie Yolles Award, presented to a graduating diploma student who in their final year, shows excellence in painting.
Vita is interested in her personal impression and interpretation of her subject through various mixed media. Her constant source of interest and inspiration is the human figure, whether through classical representation or abstraction.
Participating in numerous juried and non-juried shows,Vita’s work has received recognition and awards.
She currently teaches art to adults, is involved in many community art programs and is an active member of various art groups.
